Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using LittleWorld English, you agree to these Terms. If you are a parent or legal guardian setting up the app for a child, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the child who uses the app. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Parent or guardian responsibility

LittleWorld English is intended for family learning. A parent or legal guardian is responsible for:

• setting up and supervising the child's use of the app;
• managing sign-in, subscriptions, purchases, and external links;
• deciding whether to allow camera, microphone, speech recognition, notification, and account-sync features;
• ensuring that any photo added to the app is appropriate and that the parent has the right to use it.

The app uses parent-facing controls and parental gates for areas that are not intended for unsupervised child access, including purchases and external links.

3. Educational use, not professional advice

LittleWorld English provides educational activities for English learning. It does not provide medical, speech therapy, psychological, diagnostic, or professional educational advice. Pronunciation feedback is approximate and child-friendly; it is not a clinical assessment.

4. Accounts and sign-in

The app may create a temporary anonymous account to support learning progress and app operation. A parent may optionally sign in with Email, Apple, or Google to protect and sync progress across devices. You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us promptly.

5. Subscriptions, free trials, and purchases

Premium access may be offered through auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store. Subscription terms, price, trial eligibility, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple and may vary by country or App Store account.

• Payment is charged to the Apple ID used for the purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled according to Apple's rules before the end of the current period.
• Free trial availability is determined by Apple and may not be available to every Apple ID.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
• Refund requests are handled by Apple, not directly by LittleWorld English.

We may offer a free tier or limited access. We may change free-tier limits, content availability, or premium features prospectively, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.

6. Local photos and recordings

The app may allow a parent to add photos for vocabulary personalization and may allow a child to record audio for pronunciation or read-aloud practice. These photos and recordings are for personal family learning inside the app. Do not add photos, recordings, or other content that you do not have permission to use or that is unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate for children.

As described in the Privacy Policy, these photos and recordings are intended to stay on the device and are not public social content.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or exploitative purposes;
• attempt to bypass parent gates, subscription controls, security rules, or account restrictions;
• reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law;
• upload or store content that infringes another person's rights;
• interfere with the app, backend services, or another user's account.

8. Intellectual property

The app, lessons, text, artwork, audio, design, software, and other materials are owned by LittleWorld English or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for family learning, subject to these Terms and App Store rules.

You retain any rights you have in photos or recordings you add to the app. You grant us only the limited rights needed to display and process them inside the app on your device.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed. By using the app, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for reviewing it and making choices for your child.

10. Third-party services

The app uses services and platform features from Apple, Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, and related providers for account sign-in, subscriptions, cloud progress sync, crash diagnostics, and app operation. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

11. Availability and changes

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app or content. We try to preserve learning progress, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or permanent availability of every feature, lesson, or service.

12. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated, if required by law, or if necessary to protect users, children, the app, or our services.

13. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LittleWorld English will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption arising from use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app or subscription during the twelve months before the claim, or the minimum amount allowed by law.

15. App Store terms

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple is not a party to these Terms but is a third-party beneficiary of the terms that apply to Apple platform distribution. Apple is responsible for App Store payment processing, subscription management, and refund processes as required by Apple's rules.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, except where consumer protection law gives you mandatory rights under another jurisdiction.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will show a new "Last updated" date. If changes materially affect your rights or a child's use of the app, we will provide notice where required by law.
